Fairy Tales.
This series is perhaps my most expansive, but it is not about escapism.
I see these stories through the lens of Jungian archetypes, the universal patterns we all carry in our collective unconscious. Since I was a child, I’ve been moved by Andersen and the Grimm brothers, but not only for the magic but also for the symbolism. The solitary figures and symbolic objects, like a suitcase or an umbrella, represent our internal equipment. I try to create my new personal mythologies to show that the darkness we face in tales is the same uncertainty we face in our modern lives. It’s about finding the sovereignty of the soul in a vast and unpredictable world.
